Surprised At Something

about

Melbourne-based indie-pop duo Trace Decay have returned with their striking new single ‘Surprised At Something’ and announced their debut EP ‘Monstrous Subconscious’.

“This song is about exploring self-awareness and gaining a level of introspection into the dynamics that play out around you, both physically and emotionally. It comes from the point of view of someone who can see toxic and unhealthy dynamics playing out in their everyday life, leading them to brazenly call out the fake bullshit through a dry/witty lens."

lyrics

Are you waiting for something?
Something new to come your way?
All the books that you’re reading
Have led you astray

This new look that your trying now
It’s far too high brow
for the things that I’ve seen you do
in public spaces

Who do you think you are?

All the money that you’ve spent
All just to maintain
A lifestyle thats chewed you up
and left you vein

So here comes the hardest part
Yeah here comes the hardest part
I think im you’re counterpart

Its the hardest part, I fall apart
